Fall Book Fair
The Annual Fall Book Fair is a week-long celebration of books. Students are encouraged to seek out the latest titles and read new books. The book fair is open before, during and after school for the entire week. The book fair is run completely by volunteers. Typically the school raises $5000 for new books for the library and the English department.
As part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, Esperero holds a school Spelling Bee. Bee Champions receive an on-line subscription to the Kids Encyclopedia Britannica, and go on to compete at higher levels. The ECMS Bee is coordinated by a parent volunteer.
8th Grade Promotion
8th Grade Promotion is a 2 day event: starting with the Promotion Ceremony and Reception, followed by a Dance on Tuesday of the last week of school. On Wednesday the 8th Graders spend a day together with activities planned by this committee. The student committee joins the FFO volunteers in planning the entire event, which includes the construction of the elaborate decorations.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation
Throughout the year, the FFO sponsors teacher and staff appreciation lunches and treats. From sponsoring a lunch for teachers during professional development to honoring our bus drivers with gift cards, we want everyone to know how much we appreciate them.
